Dry Rub for Pork Ribs

Dry Rub for Pork Ribs

A smoky, spicy dry rub that your taste buds will thank you for. The pork won’t,
but you can’t please everyone. Use it for pork ribs or shoulder.

Ingredients:

1 pound (450 g) pork ribs

2 teaspoons (10 mL) chili powder mix

1 teaspoon (5 mL) garlic powder

1 teaspoon (5 mL) dried thyme

1 teaspoon (5 mL) ground smoked peppercorns (regular peppercorn works too)

1 teaspoon (5 mL) salt

1 teaspoon (5 mL) brown sugar

1 tablespoon (15 mL)apple cider vinegar

2 chipotle chili peppers in adobe sauce, sliced

1/2 teaspoon (2 mL) dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon (2 mL) ground cayenne pepper

Cooking It:

Combine all the spices and rub on to the pork. Place in a baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Place in refrigerator to marinate for 24 hours ( a little less is okay). There are two ways to cook this recipe. You can bake it in the oven at 250 degrees (120 C) for 60 minutes. Or you might be thinking, “I ain’t baking my ribs!” So, an alternative method is to grill the ribs. About 45 minutes on a grill should do it.
