“One small step for recipe blogs,…” Thanks for checking out this recipe blog. I offer recipes and ideas the take a twist to familiar and not so familiar foods. A portion of any profits go to two charities that help alleviate hunger. I hope you find the ideas interesting and fun to try!

Packaged Steak Pho

Packaged Steak Pho

This is a “phoantastic” recipe. This is one of the few times that I use certain packaged ingredients. Together, it makes for a “phonomenal” taste sensation. Okay, I’ll stop now.

Ingredients:

1 pound (450 g) boneless sirloin steak, thinly sliced and cut into small

1 26 ounce (737 g) package Simply Asia Vietnamese Inspired Pho Beef Broth

1 14 ounce (397 g) package Taylor Farms Ginger Garlic Veggies and Sauce Stir Fry Kit

2 tablespoons (30 mL) Mizkan Mirin (Japanese sweet cooking seasoning)

1 tablespoon (15 mL) Ching’s Secret Chilli Sauce (or sriracha sauce)

4 ounces (120 g) uncooked Thai Kitchen Brown Rice Noodles (comes in an 8 ounce-226 g-package)

Cooking It:

Put the cut up steak in a large bowl. Remove the sauce packet from the Taylor Farms Ginger Garlic package. Pour the contents of the sauce packet into the bowl with the steak. Add the Mizkan Mirin and the Ching’s Secret Chilli Sauce to the bowl. Stir and marinate for 30 minutes.

Place the marinated streak in an 8 quart (7.5 L) stockpot. Cook for 3 minutes over medium flame. Add the Simply Asia Pho Beef Broth. Bring the broth to a boil. Add the brown rice noodles. Add the vegetables from the Taylor Farms package. Cook for 2 minutes. Lower the flame and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
